Meet the Horses

At Horse Husband Stables, every horse is part of a story that begins the day they’re born and continues for the rest of their life. Through Foal to Forever, you can join an entire class of Thoroughbreds — following their journey from foaling, to racing, to retirement, and beyond.

When you become a member, you’re not just a spectator. You become part of the accountability team that ensures each horse’s story is never left unfinished.

Members aren’t just fans—they’re part of the horse’s lifelong plan. When a retiree becomes available, class members receive priority consideration to apply for a lifetime free lease, followed by other Foal to Forever members, with accredited non-profits engaged in parallel before any public posting.

    Lord Paycasso (Paycasso)

📌 Sire: Paynter • Dam: Lady Dyanaformer (by Vertiformer)
    📅 Born: March 12, 2024

Paycasso’s start in life was anything but simple — a difficult delivery, a week-long hospital stay, and a fight against infection. Against the odds, he pulled through. Today, he’s thriving at Horse Husband Stables and preparing to begin race training before the end of this year.

    Emperor Caesarion (Caesar)

📌 Sire: Outwork • Dam: Empress Luciana (by Stay Thirsty)
    📅 Born: April 16, 2024

Delivered by emergency C-section, Caesar is the only foal of his dam, Empress Luciana. Strong and independent from the start, he carries her legacy forward as he grows into a powerful young colt. Like Paycasso, he’s aiming to begin training by year’s end.

    Lady Calliope (Callie)

Sire: Country Grammer • Dam: Lady Dyanaformer (by Vertiformer)
    📅 Born: March 20, 2025

Lady Calliope, known as Callie, is the second foal out of Lady Dyanaformer and has been part of the Horse Husband Stables program since birth. Her early weeks required additional support and careful management, shaping the thoughtful, resilient filly she is today.

At birth, Callie presented with contracted front legs and lax hind fetlocks, leaving her initially unable to stand on her own. She wore supportive wraps and braces on her front legs for the first weeks of her life and received her earliest nutrition via feeding tube until she gained the strength to nurse independently. With time and steady care, she grew out of all external support.

In June 2025, Callie spent a week hospitalized after developing a high fever related to a viral illness of undetermined origin. She responded well to supportive care and made a full recovery.

Today, Callie is well balanced, social, and level headed. Compared to her dam’s bold, dominant nature, she tends to be more measured and deliberate, often observing and processing before engaging. As part of the Class of 2025, she represents the long-term commitment behind Foal to Forever, from early intervention through healthy development.

    A Dozen and Won (Thirteen)

Sire: Tale of Silence • Dam: Elusive Surprise (by Elusive Quality)
    📅 Born: March 13, 2025

A Dozen and Won, known as Thirteen, is the thirteenth and final foal out of Elusive Surprise. He was born after careful monitoring of his dam, who was purchased in foal by Horse Husband Stables with a clear plan in place: she would deliver this colt, would not be bred again, and would then retire.

Thirteen made a strong entrance into the world. He was quick to stand and nurse, showing early independence and awareness, and from the beginning demonstrated a problem solving nature, often working things out on his own.

Despite that strong start, Thirteen faced medical challenges early in life and required hospitalization on two occasions, receiving emergency veterinary care fully supported by Horse Husband Stables. With careful treatment and management, he recovered well and continued to develop alongside the other foals.

Following weaning, Elusive Surprise officially began her retirement and was donated to Mareworthy Charities to join their sanctuary herd. Because Mareworthy is housed at the same farm as Horse Husband Stables, her transition was seamless and familiar.

Today, Thirteen is observant, engaged, and mentally active, showing confidence and curiosity as he continues to mature alongside his peers.

As part of the Class of 2025, Thirteen remains with Horse Husband Stables as a potential racehorse and carries lifetime protection through the Foal to Forever program, reflecting a long term commitment to both mare and foal.

    Audacious Whysper (Whysper)

Sire: Brody’s Cause • Dam: My Audubon (by Americain)
    📅 Born: April 9, 2025

Audacious Whysper, known as Whysper, is part of the Class of 2025 and was raised at Horse Husband Stables from birth. Her breeding was thoughtfully planned by friends at Whysper Wynd Farm, who generously gifted My Audubon to Horse Husband Stables in foal. That partnership is reflected directly in Whysper’s name and spelling, honoring the farm that planned and made her possible.

Whysper’s delivery itself was uncomplicated, but within her first thirty minutes of life she stumbled and fell beneath her dam. In an unfortunate but rare accident, Audi lightly stepped on her, resulting in fractured ribs. Out of caution, Whysper remained on stall rest for the first two weeks of her life to allow those fractures to heal safely without displacement. With time and careful management, she recovered fully.

After a timid and jumpy start, particularly around people, she gradually became more confident. That early caution has since given way to a filly who is level headed, social, and increasingly people focused.

In the field, Whysper has formed a close bond with Lady Calliope (Callie). While the two were not always immediate companions, they have grown into a strong pair and are now regularly found together, moving and resting side by side.

As part of the Class of 2025, Whysper’s story reflects the quieter side of development, where patience, thoughtful care, and time allow confidence to take root and friendships to form naturally.

  • Country Karma (CK)

Sire: Country Grammer • Dam: Aunt Beril
    📅 Born: April 28, 2025
📍 Arrival: January 13, 2026; Purchased as Hip #577 at the Keeneland January 2026 Horses of All Ages Sale

Country Karma joined the Class of 2025 after going through the sales ring without a bid. We were attending the sale casually with the intention of finding a suitable companion for Thirteen. After several options did not work out, we reviewed the day’s earlier results and noticed this colt had gone unsold. We then went to the barn area, spoke with Taylor Made Sales about the seller’s plans, spent time evaluating him in person, and ultimately moved forward with the purchase.

By Country Grammer, he shares a sire with Lady Calliope (Callie), making him the second foal from Country Grammer’s first crop to join the Foal to Forever program. With only 47 foals in that inaugural crop, the connection stood out. He is small for his age but well balanced, social, and notably level headed as he settles into his new environment. He now steps into an important role as a steady companion for Thirteen, with the potential to pursue a racing career of his own.

Earlier that same day, in a moment of unexpected serendipity, a friend had reached out mentioning a former client looking to place a colt as they exited the business. After the purchase, we learned that the colt they were referring to was this very horse—something none of us realized at the time.

Class of 2026 - Future Foals

  • Lady Dyanaformer

📌 Sire: Vertiformer • Dam: Lady Macjazz (by Shakespeare)
    📅 Expected Foaling Date: May 4, 2026
🤰 In Foal To: Knicks Go

    About Lady Dyanaformer

Lady Dyanaformer is deeply connected to the Horse Husband Stables legacy. Not only was she the first foal ever bred by Horse Husband Stables, but she also became their first racehorse.

Her dam, Lady Macjazz, still lives on the farm in retirement, making this a truly multi-generational story.

This will be her third foal—her first, Lord Paycasso, is by Paynter and part of the Class of 2024, and her second, Lady Calliope, is by Country Grammer and part of the Class of 2025.

  • My Audubon

📌 Sire: Americain • Dam: Queen of Monday (by Corporate Report)
    📅 Expected Foaling Date: April 19, 2026
    🤰 In Foal To: Zandon

    About My Audubon

My Audubon is a mare with a unique backstory. She was never meant to be here—at least, not at first.

She came to Horse Husband Stables already in foal in 2024 from their partner farm, Whysper Wynd, as a replacement for Empress Luciana, who had to be retired from breeding after a C-section delivery of Emperor Caesarion (Class of 2024).

Now, that filly by Brody’s Cause, Audacious Whysper, is part of the Class of 2025, and Audi is carrying what will be her second foal for Horse Husband Stables.

Not Every Story Begins with a Birth Year

While many Foal to Forever horses are grouped by the year they were born, not every horse’s story fits neatly into a foal crop. Some came before Kentucky. Some arrived later by intention. Some shaped the program long before it had a name.

The Originals are the horses whose stories fall outside traditional classes but are foundational to Foal to Forever. They include the matriarchs, the first foals, the longtime companions, and the intentional forever horses whose presence helped define how Horse Husband Stables operates today.

Like every horse in the Foal to Forever program, The Originals are protected by lifetime accountability. Their stories continue to be followed, documented, and honored—whether they remain part of the breeding program, serve as companions and teachers, or live out their retirement chapters through Mareworthy Charities.

Together, these classes reflect the full scope of Foal to Forever: from foaling, to racing, to retirement, and beyond—without leaving any story unfinished.

Following her retirement, Dyana transitioned into a broodmare role and has since produced Lord Paycasso (Class of 2024) and Lady Calliope (Class of 2025), with a foal planned for the Class of 2026. As both a producer and a bridge between generations, Dyana is a central figure in the Foal to Forever program and the evolution of the farm.

  • Our Caravan (Van)

📌 Sire: Daaher • Dam: Alwaan (by Elusive Quality)
    📅 Foaled: March 31, 2011 • Color: Bay gelding
    📍 Foaled in: Kentucky

Our Caravan, known as Van, is a retired stakes-winning racehorse who joined Horse Husband Stables in 2024 as a prospective babysitter for the young colts. He raced 68 times, earning $669,036, with 29 wins, and ranked 19th nationally by number of wins in 2017.

After initially proving a bit too much for weanlings, Van settled naturally into a mentorship role as the colts matured. Today, he plays an important part in the herd, providing structure, movement, and leadership for older young horses as they grow, while living out his retirement at the farm.

  • My Audubon (Audi)

📌 Sire: Americain • Dam: Queen of Money (by Corporate Report)
    📅 Foaled: April 1, 2014 • Color: Bay
    📍 Foaled in: Kentucky

Audi is the dam of Audacious Whysper (Class of 2025) and is part of The Originals because her arrival ensured continuity in the breeding program following the retirement of Empress Luciana. With her foaling career nearing completion, Audi represents the intentional, relationship-driven decisions at the heart of Foal to Forever.

Graduates

  • Empress Luciana (Luci)

In 2024, Luci delivered her first and only foal, Emperor Caesarion (Caesar), via emergency C-section. Following his birth, she was retired from breeding and donated to Mareworthy Charities, where she now lives her next chapter.

Luci is part of The Originals because her story is inseparable from Caesar’s. Without her, the Class of 2024 would not exist as it does today.

    📅 Foaled: January 12, 2006 • Color: Dark bay/brown

Following weaning, Surprise was donated to Mareworthy Charities, where she now lives out her retirement. She is part of The Originals because her story reflects the core Foal to Forever commitment—intentional planning, lifetime accountability, and a dignified transition from production to permanent care.
