Watch the Foal Watch Cameras
As the mares approach their due dates, the foaling stalls will be monitored through live cameras.
When labor begins, Foal to Forever members can watch the moment unfold live — from the first signs of labor to the foal’s first attempts to stand.
Because foaling often happens late at night, the most exciting moments frequently occur in the early morning hours.
Live foaling cameras are exclusive to Foal to Forever members, allowing members to experience the very beginning of each horse’s story in real time.
The cameras are just the beginning. Foal to Forever members follow these horses from their first moments in the stall through training, racing, and retirement.
What Happens When the Foals Arrive

When a foal is born, the first hours are extraordinary.
These are moments most people never get to witness.
At Horse Husband Stables, Foal to Forever members can watch these first hours live as the story of each foal begins.
The Class of 2026 Parents
Two mares at Horse Husband Stables are expecting foals this spring.
These stallion pairings will create the next generation of the Foal to Forever story.

When labor begins, everything moves quickly.
Most mares deliver their foals within about 20 minutes once active labor starts, which is why we monitor the mares closely as their due dates approach.
While foaling is a natural process, it’s also one that we watch carefully. At Horse Husband Stables we intervene only when necessary, but we are always present and ready to step in if a mare or foal needs help.
In the past, we’ve seen how quickly situations can change. Some foals arrive easily, while others require additional support — from helping a foal stand and nurse to emergency veterinary care for complications like dystocia. In 2024 we even faced a C-section.
Because of that, the foaling stalls are monitored closely, and veterinary support is always within reach.
And yes — most mares prefer to foal in the middle of the night, which means the cameras are often most exciting after dark.
Last year both Lady Dyanaformer and My Audubon delivered on their exact due dates.
Will they do it again this year? -
Once a foal is born, the first few hours are critical.
Here’s what we’re watching for.
Birth
The foal is delivered and the mare begins bonding.Standing
Most foals attempt to stand within about 30–60 minutes.First Nursing
The foal should nurse within the first two hours in order to receive colostrum, the antibody-rich first milk.Passing Meconium
The foal should pass its first manure, called meconium, during the early hours after birth.Placenta Delivery
The mare should pass the placenta shortly after foaling, which we inspect carefully to ensure it is complete.Veterinary Check (8–12 Hours)
At Horse Husband Stables, the foal’s first veterinary visit occurs within 8–12 hours.
During this exam we:• Check the foal’s overall health
• Evaluate colostrum intake and run an IgG test
• Administer plasma to support immunity
• Examine the mare and placentaThese early hours help determine how the foal’s first days of life will unfold.
