Class of 2026 Naming Results: Top Names Submitted for Jockey Club Approval
After hundreds of submissions, weeks of discussion, and a vote with high participation, the Class of 2026 naming contest has officially reached its next chapter.
Pending final approval from The Jockey Club, the top-selected names for the Class of 2026 fillies are:
Lady Greyswan — Lady Dyanaformer’s 2026 filly by Knicks Go
Miavanti — My Audubon’s 2026 filly by Zandon
Voting officially closed at 11:59 PM EST on May 17, 2026.
Over the course of the naming contest, we received 195 submitted names between the two fillies from Foal to Forever members and public followers. After reviewing names for Jockey Club eligibility, duplication, formatting restrictions, celebrity references, and availability concerns, 78 unique finalist names advanced to the final voting round.
Class of 2026 members participated in the final vote, with each member able to select up to three names per filly.
Some members dug deep into pedigrees. Others researched mythology, goddesses, storms, birds, literature, racing traditions, and artistic references. Several names independently arrived at similar ideas and themes, which was fascinating to watch unfold in real time.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated.
Meet Lady Greyswan
Lady Dyanaformer’s filly by Knicks Go
Final Vote Total: 13 votes
Lady Greyswan ultimately pulled away late in voting after a very competitive race between several top contenders.
The name evolved from the idea that this filly is the first gray horse ever raised by Horse Husband Stables.
Originally, the concept simply began as “the gray one.” From there, the name evolved into something softer, more elegant, and more symbolic.
The “Lady” portion continues the established maternal naming tradition within this family:
Lady Macjazz
Lady Dyanaformer
Lord Paycasso
Lady Calliope
The “Grey” spelling was intentionally chosen over “Gray” because it felt slightly softer, more European, and more refined.
As the name evolved, the swan imagery began to fit her story perfectly:
the contrast between black swan and white swan
her mix of sweet and mischievous personality traits
and the “ugly duckling to swan” transformation after being born with contracted tendons and needing early leg support.
Her barn name will be decided in a future member vote after final naming approval is received from The Jockey Club.
Meet Miavanti
My Audubon’s filly by Zandon
Final Vote Total: 18 votes
Miavanti quickly emerged as the clear leader in the voting and ultimately became the runaway winner for Audi’s filly.
The name originated from several overlapping ideas connected to Audi, performance vehicles, movement, and Italian-inspired language.
The starting point was Audi’s high-performance Avant vehicle line, particularly the RS6 Avant.
Because this filly is Audi’s sixth foal overall, the “Avant” concept immediately stood out.
From there, the idea evolved through several stages:
“My Avant”
“Mia Avant”
and eventually “Miavanti”
The final version intentionally leans into an Italian feel.
That worked especially well because:
“Mia” serves as a feminine Italian reference
“Avanti” in Italian means “forward” or “ahead”
the name carries movement and momentum
and Zandon’s surname structure likely traces back to Italian linguistic origins.
Her barn name will be Mia.
A Note About the Voting Results
We also want to acknowledge something many people may notice: both top-selected names were official Horse Husband Stables submissions from Sean and Kyle.
That certainly was not something we expected going into the contest, especially because the quality of member-submitted names this year was extraordinary.
And importantly:
no one from Horse Husband Stables voted.
Voting was restricted entirely to active Class of 2026 members, and every vote cast came directly from the Foal to Forever community.
At the same time, one of the things we love most about these naming contests is that the process has become deeply collaborative over the years. Some names have come directly from community submissions, while others began as conversations, brainstorming sessions, or evolving ideas between members and Horse Husband Stables.
For example:
A Dozen and Won was a member-submitted winner from the Class of 2025
Country Karma was a public-submitted winner after more than 300 submissions
Audacious Whysper evolved collaboratively through discussions between HHS and members before ultimately being submitted and voted through
Lady Calliope was an HHS submission that members overwhelmingly connected with during voting
That collaborative spirit is part of what makes these contests so meaningful to us.
As with previous contests where an official HHS submission ultimately received the most votes, Horse Husband Stables is not eligible for contest prizes.
Instead, the highest-ranking member-submitted finalist names will receive the prize packages for this year’s contest:
Careless Wyhsper for Audi’s filly
Lady Knicks for Dyana’s filly
We truly cannot overstate how impressed we were by the names submitted throughout this process.
What Happens Next?
The top-selected names will now move forward for submission to The Jockey Club for naming approval.
While these names were screened in advance for eligibility and known conflicts, final approval ultimately rests with The Jockey Club.
If approved, these will become the names associated with the fillies during their eventual official Thoroughbred registration process.
It’s important to note that name approval is only one part of registration. The fillies will still need to complete the remainder of The Jockey Club registration process, including DNA verification, parentage confirmation, required documentation, and registration fees before becoming officially registered Thoroughbreds.
The live foal reports for both fillies have already been submitted, but there are still several additional registration steps that happen behind the scenes before registration is fully complete.
We’ll share a separate educational update soon walking through the full Thoroughbred registration process step-by-step, including what has already been completed and what still happens before a foal officially becomes registered.
One More Member Vote Is Coming
Because this community has become such an important part of the naming process, we have one more surprise planned.
Once The Jockey Club officially confirms the approved name for Lady Greyswan, Class of 2026 members will also get to help decide her barn name.
The final barn name vote will include:
Grace
Swan
Kara
Each option represents a different layer of the story and symbolism behind the final name:
Grace reflects elegance, transformation, and the filly’s journey from crooked-legged newborn to graceful young horse
Swan ties directly to the black swan/white swan imagery behind the name itself
Kara references both the K-Pop group as a tie to Knicks Go being owned by the Republic of Korea, and Kára from Norse mythology, the swan-shifting Valkyrie whose story helped inspire the final evolution of Lady Greyswan
We thought it would be fitting to let the Class of 2026 community have one final say in what she will be called day-to-day around the farm.
