The Jockey Club Officially Approves Miavanti and Lady Greyswan
The names are officially approved.
Just one day after submitting the finalist names to The Jockey Club, both Class of 2026 fillies officially received approval:
Miavanti
Lady Greyswan
Thank you again to everyone who submitted names and participated in the voting process. We loved seeing the creativity, symbolism, and thoughtfulness behind so many of the entries.
While the final approved names ultimately came from Horse Husband Stables submissions, we still wanted to add one more layer that allows members to help shape Lady Greyswan’s story moving forward.
Miavanti Will Be “Mia”
For Miavanti, we’ve officially settled on the barn name “Mia.”
She has already very clearly become Mia around the farm, and it simply fits her perfectly.
Help Choose Lady Greyswan’s Barn Name
At the bottom of this article, members of the Class of 2026 members will find a voting form where Class of 2026 members can help select Lady Greyswan’s everyday barn name.
The Three Finalists
Grace
“Grace” pulls naturally from the sound and flow of “Lady Greyswan” while also pairing beautifully with “Mia,” giving us “Grace and Mia” as a duo of fillies who will grow up together. The name feels elegant, timeless, and fitting for her presence and movement.
Kara
“Kara” carries connections to her pedigree and family story. It serves as a nod to her sire, Knicks Go, by referencing the K-pop group KARA since Knicks Go is owned by the Republic of Korea.
Interestingly, “Knicks” itself actually references the Korean pedigree nicking system “K Nicks,” rather than the New York Knicks.
The name additionally ties into Norse mythology through swan-associated Valkyrie lore, connecting back to her grandmother Lady Macjazz (“Freja”), whose barn name was inspired by the Norse goddess Freyja.
Swan
“Swan” directly connects to Lady Greyswan’s registered name and reflects many of the qualities we already associate with her. Between her long legs needing time to unfold, evolving gray coat, and naturally elegant build, the name feels especially fitting as she continues to grow and mature.
Recognizing the Top Member-Submitted Names
We also want to recognize the highest-voted member-submitted names outside of the Horse Husband Stables entries.
We’ll be reaching out soon to send a little Foal to Forever swag to the member who submitted the top non-HHS finalist names for each filly.
